Watchmen: The Animated Series!

DoomDuck's picture

Truly this is a glorious Watchmen related gem. Not only does it combine Scooby, Ninja Turtles, Jem, et al it also has perfect Watchmen references turned zany.

Here's the link to the original vid on Newgrounds, too, so's that you can feel completely satisfied that I do not hide things from you. Nae, I disclose everything! Noone needs to watch me! Nope. (Though a stalker would be kinda nice.)

So the first time I saw this video it was followed by some crazy man-fish wearing a tutu. I'm not making that up. But regardless of how disturbed I was after the man-fish, this video continues to crack me up.

Wolverine vs. Rorschach

I have very high hopes for the Wolverine movie. I had very high hopes, which were surpassed, for Watchmen. I think if you disagree you should be forced to rewatch the OLD superhero movies that the rest of us grew up watching and loving. Or, for a crash course, just check out the Japanese Spiderman movies here. That'll learn you. And yes, that is Spidey with a machine gun.

Peter Griffin vs. Christian Bale

Oh Family Guy how do you manage to do it?

But you know what, honestly, after watching that South Park episode making fun of FG, it just wasn't the same anymore. It's like they peeled away the layer of joke and revealed a fairly unsubtle way of inserting humor. I still enjoyed FG, but it didn't have the same appeal. That said, their style fits my sense of humor to a tee - this is probably why I still find them funny. But they didn't seamlessly blend them into the story the way South Park or The Simpsons did.

As for Christian Bale, poor guy. I don't think he's naturally an asshole, despite what it sounded like on the clip. I don't blow up at people, but I know plenty of good guys who do blow up. That doesn't mean they're not good guys, just that they're stressed. On the other side of the coin, he did play Bateman in American Psycho so I'd not leave him around any kittens or ATMs that I was particularly attached to.
