You hear a low-growl behind you from someone in the pavillion. You turn around just in time to see a man in a green cloak grab another patron and slam his head into the table, instantly knocking him unconscious. The man in the green cloak has his hood pulled forward over his head and the cloak pulled tight around him. Any details are difficult to make out. You can already see his eyes, glowing bright red in the recesses of his hood, looking for another target.
Ranja lets loose an alarmed little squeak.
Sonadora stops her rush out the door and holds her staff at ready, glancing at the cloaked figure.
Arphaxad: Here we go!
Geyer points his sword at the threatening gentleman.
Geyer: Last call for you, I'm afraid.
Geyer: Initiative [1d20+2 = 13]
Sonadora: Initiative [1d20+3 = 8]
Ranja: Initiative [1d20+1 = 5]
Arphaxad: Initiative [1d20+3 = 10]
Geyer looks into the glowing eyes.
Geyer: You, sir, are mine.
Geyer: (Designate Opponent)
Sonadora frowns at Geyer.
Sonadora: It's just a bar fight.
Sonadora: Or are we taking out the filth?
The crowd in the bar erupts into chaos as they mill about, trying to escape the man with the red eyes!
Geyer: Drunkard's eyes don't normally glow in the dark, lady. I think this demands our full attention.
Sonadora moves out of the doorway as people push by.
Beast-Man: Strength [1d20+6 = 16]
The man grunts as he lifts a nearby chair and flings it at Geyer!
Beast-Man: Chair [1d20+5 = 22]
Beast-Man: Damage, Chair [1d3+6 = 7]
The chair slams against Geyer, nearly knocking him to the floor! It splinters into pieces after slamming into him! (7 damage!)
Arphaxad: Geyer, are you alright?!?
Geyer: Uff. I'll live.
Sonadora glances at Geyer in concern but keeps quiet.
Arphaxad casts magic missile.
Arphaxad: [1d4+1 = 1]
Arphaxad points at the man, releasing a bolt of blue energy that wings him in the shoulder! (2 damage)
Sonadora casts produce flame at the creature.
Sonadora: Produce Flame [1d20+8 = 2]
The flame flies wide of the creature, catching a table instead!
Arphaxad: Who are you and what do you want!?
Ranja tries to move closer to the others, but can't get very far through the crowd.
Ranja stops, closes her eyes to concentrate briefly, and casts doom at the red-eyed being!
Beast-Man: Will save [1d20+5 = 6]
You see an image of an enormous book appear above the man's head, and then close shut with a resounding THUD! (Affected by Doom!)
Geyer slashes with his sword!
Geyer: Melee attack [1d20+5 = 10]
The man deflects your blade with a quick swipe of his claw!
Gleaming red eyes filled with a beastial rage shine at you from beneath the hood as the man lets out a ground-shaking roar!
Beast-Man: Strength [1d20+6 = 17]
Beast-Man: Thrown Chair [1d20+6 = 8]
The man lifts another chair and throws it with incredible force at Geyer!
Sonadora: Look out!
Arphaxad: Duck!!
Geyer tries to swing his shield up in time.
The chair smashes against Geyer's shield, shattering into pieces!
A halfling woman runs into Arphaxad as he tries to walk through the crowd!
Geyer roars back at the beast-man!
Arphaxad: Move out of the way!!!
A halfling woman: EEAAAH!
Sonadora: There's a whole back half of the bar! Go there if you can't get out people!
Arphaxad looks at Geyer, then the beast man, then back at Geyer and turns to Geyer and calls the forces around him to gather and protect the hurt knight! (Mage Armor)
A glowing aura of magic surrounds Geyer, protecting him!
Sonadora casts flames again at the creature.
Sonadora: Produce Flame (Attack 1) [1d20+6 = 16]
Sonadora: Damage, Produce Flame [1d6+2 = 3]
Sonadora throws a ball of flame at the man's exposed back and strikes him! The smell of burnt hair and flesh rises into the air of the pavillion!
Arphaxad: Good hit!!
Ranja considers drawing her sword, but with all the people running about won't be able to reach the red-eyed man in time. Instead, she draws her sling and a stone from her pocket, and lets fly.
Sonadora gives a jaunty grin.
Ranja: Sling (Attack 1) [1d20+2 = 15]
Ranja: Sling damage [1d4 = 2]
The bullet from Ranja's sling strikes the man on the temple drawing blood and causing him to reel to the side in pain! (2 damage!)
Geyer edges carefully forward, then strikes with his blade!
Geyer: Melee attack [1d20+5 = 12]
The beast-man roars with fury and leaps forward past Geyer's strike, attempting to close the distance between it and Ranja!
Sonadora: Run!
Geyer: Longsword (Attack 1) [1d20+5 = 20]
Geyer: Longsword damage [1d8+3 = 10]
Geyer: Damage, Designate Foe [1d6 = 5]
GM: So, 12 damage, huh.
As the man leaps towards Ranja, Geyer spins from his failed hit and lines the sword up with the wild man's chest! The blade cuts into him, releasing a shower of blood into the crowd!
An old man: Gah! My eyes!
The man roars furiously and flails out at everyone nearby!
Beast-Man: Claw [1d20+8 = 21]
Beast-Man: Claw damage [1d6+6 = 12]
One of the wild man's claws catches Ranja on the chest, tearing open her armor! (12 damage!)
Sonadora: Protect Ranja!
Arphaxad: You VILE CREATURE!!!!
Arphaxad: You will die!!!
Ranja screams and bursts into tears, clutching at her chest.
Arphaxad: I like the smell of you burning!!!
Arphaxad summons fire into the palms of his hands and releases them as a fan of flames!
Beast-Man: Reflex save [1d20+6 = 23]
The wild man turns towards the source of the flame and lets out a bellow that quenches the flame before they can reach him!
Sonadora casts produce flame again, trying to get closer.
Arphaxad: Jump from table to table!!!
Sonadora: Produce Flame (Attack 1) [1d20+6 = 20]
Sonadora: Dagger, Ranged damage [1d6+2 = 8]
The fire catches the wildman's cape on fire, and proceeds to burn at his flesh! (8 damage!)
Geyer: Well struck!
Sonadora: Nobody hurts my friends and gets away with it.
Ranja manages to hold together long enough to fumble another stone from her pocket and lob it at the creature.
Ranja: Sling (Attack 1) [1d20+2 = 17]
Ranja: Sling damage [1d4 = 1]
The stone knicks the man in the shoulder! Nasty bruise? (1 damage!)
Ranja crawls under a table.
Geyer swiftly marks his foe and strikes at the man's exposed flank.
Geyer: Longsword (Attack 1) [1d20+5 = 15]
Geyer: Longsword damage [1d8+3 = 5]
Geyer: Damage, Designate Foe [1d6 = 1]
The sword cuts into the man's flank, breaking bones and cutting into the flesh! (6 damage!)
The hood falls away from what once was a human face. Now revealed, you can see the beastial set of the man's jaw and a wild, black beard that traces his jawline.

Wild Thing! Dununununuh! You make my heart sing! Dununununuh!

Sonadora shudders.
Arphaxad: A human?
Arphaxad: Maybe a human once, but no more
Geyer: As we feared...this curse can strike men as well as beasts. Damn!
Sonadora agrees.
The beast steps slightly and slashes out at everyone around him, his teeth gnashing at all around him!
Beast-Man: Claw, Arphaxad [1d20+8 = 12]
Beast-Man: Claw, Geyer [1d20+8 = 25]
Beast-Man: Bite, Ranja [1d20+3 = 21]
Beast-Man: Claw damage [1d6+6 = 11]
Beast-Man: Bite damage [1d8+3 = 10]
In the beast-man's fury, he manages to strike at all three, Arphaxad, Geyer and Ranja!
Arphaxad ducks a claw aimed for him, as another flies into Geyer, shearing the armor off his shoulder (11 damage!) and then he smashes through the table Ranja hides under and bites her on the shoulder, tearing a good chunk of flesh from her! (10 damage!)
Arphaxad: Youve escaped me for the last time!
Arphaxad once again summons forth fire!
Beast-Man: Reflex Save [1d20+6 = 12]
Arphaxad: [1d4 = 3]
Arphaxad: Now burn!!
The fan of flames finally catches the beast-man, lighting his entire body! He throws himself to the ground, rolling to put out the flames, and they dwindle away... but leave his flesh seared! (3 damage!)
The burst of fire also catches the garments of some of the crowd on fire, injuring several caught in the blast!
The man stands and roars, smashing a table in half with his fist!
Then stumbles...
And collapses.
As the creature lies still on the floor, you see cords of muscle relax leaving the body limp. Dark claws jut from its fingertips and wild black hair covers the back of the creature's arms and hands. Despite the feral nature of its body, it wears a simple pair of breeches, a brown jerkin, and a dark green hooded cape.
Arphaxad: Sona, get over here and see if you can help Ranja!
Arphaxad: Hurry, she isn't moving...
Geyer places his sword over the things heart and presses down hard, once. "Just ta make sure."
Ranja doesn't move.
Sonadora runs over to see Ranja, checking her over.
Sonadora: Heal [1d20+7 = 20]
She's bleeding badly from both wounds, but you can wrap them and stop the bleeding.
She won't die, if you hurry. (Successful Heal check)
Sonadora: Find Sintiyla. Try the town hall!
The creature lies limp and burned, blood seeping from his chest.
Geyer then begins to go through the feral man's simple clothes, looking for answers. And perhaps some coin.
Arphaxad: Markham? Markham?! We need Sintilya!/font>
(Geyer) Hanging from the man's belt, you find a small pouch containing 20 platinum coins, a stark white wooden carving of an owl, and an oak talisman depicting a bow and arrow overlaid by the silhouette of a wolf.
Geyer: Those items swiftly disappear into Geyer's own belt pouch.
GM: Markham appears to be gone.
GM: And most of the people have cleared out, or are still busy panicking.
Sonadora: I'll go.
Sonadora runs to the Chamber of the Sun.
Sonadora - you reach the Chamber of the Sun and spy some candles through the windows.
Sonadora runs inside, calling out for Sintilya.
Sintilya appears before Sonadora -
Sintilya Foxblood: Sonadora? What is it?
Sonadora pulls Sintilya's arm.
Sintilya Foxblood: Where? What's going on?
Sonadora: Hurry! Ranja....hurt....Markham's pavillion...
Sintilya Foxblood gasps!
Sonadora pants for breath.
Sonadora: Bad...
Sintilya Foxblood: Let me get my things from the Temple!
Sonadora: Hurry!
Garret Arahnrod steps out from the back room of the Chamber.
Sonadora pulls on Garret too.
Garret Arahnrod: No need, Sintilya - take me to her Sonadora!
Sonadora: No, we need a healer!
Garret Arahnrod gives a grim smile to Sonadora.
Garret Arahnrod: Then that's what you'll have.
Garret Arahnrod runs out the door towards the Pavillion.
Sonadora squints at Garret suspiciously.
Sonadora: Sintilya, where's Vida?
Sintilya Foxblood: He's with Daisy - I'll explain more at the Pavillion, after we've taken care of Ranja.
Sonadora nods and heads back to the pavillion!

At the pavillion...
Arphaxad: What do you make of it Geyer?
Arphaxad: Demonic disease going around?
Geyer: Well it's definitely magic, so I reckon you know better than I.
Arphaxad tries to learn more about the dead man.
Arphaxad: Knowledge (Arcana) [1d20+8 = 10]
GM: The man's been transformed by something, presumably the same as the others, but you don't know terribly much about it.
GM: (Spot) You do notice that he has the same horn nubs and hardened feet that the previous creatures have had.
Geyer cleans his blade on the dead thing's cloak before oiling and sheathing it.
Garret Arahnrod runs into the Pavillion and shouts to bring order back to the crowd!
Garret Arahnrod: Everybody, OUT!
Garret Arahnrod looks around the Pavillion.
Sonadora: Hurry!
Sonadora pants against the doorway.
Arphaxad: Finally, they are here!
Garret Arahnrod finds Ranja, and Arphaxad and Geyer above the beast-man.
Garret Arahnrod runs to Ranja's side and begins to pray over her form!
Garret Arahnrod: Cure Moderate Wounds [2d8+3 = 11]
GM: (Healed for 11 damage)
GM Ranja's flesh stitches closed under Garret's ministrations, and a glow spreads from his hands as his prayers continue.
Ranja's flesh stitches closed under Garret's ministrations, and a glow spreads from his hands as his prayers continue.
Ranja groans and her eyes flutter open.
Garret Arahnrod: Are you okay?
Ranja: Ungh.
Garret Arahnrod offers her his hand to help her stand.
Garret Arahnrod: Everyone, tell me what happened here. What's been going on?
Sonadora stumbles over and hugs her.
Ranja gratefully accepts and uses him as an anchor to haul herself to her feet.
Arphaxad: Sadly, we don't know much more than you do.
Garret Arahnrod: I may be able to provide further information, but I'd like to know the specifics. All I have are ill portents.
Geyer approaches and kneels.
Geyer: Mayor Arahnrod, there have been disturbances of late. Beasts, and now men, changed into demonic versions of themselves."
Sonadora: We have to do something!
Garret Arahnrod: I see...
Geyer: These creatures seem to attack without hesitation or fear, and it seems to be spreading somehow.
Geyer: The beasts had nothing of use, but I found these items on this man.
Garret Arahnrod sighs and you notice the weariness in his stance. His clothes are stained with the dirt and dust from his recent travels.
Garret Arahnrod: Oh?
Sonadora glances sympathetically at the man, wondering if he had a family out there.
Garret Arahnrod: What did you find?
Geyer hands over the owl carving and wolf talisman to Garrett. (The coins, however, are never mentioned.)
Sonadora: Have you been traveling, Garret?
Garret Arahnrod: Hmm... this talisman is familiar to me...
Sonadora wrinkles her nose.
Garret Arahnrod nods to Sonadora.
Geyer: Perhaps they are symbols or enchanted in some fashion.
Sintilya Foxblood: I told you all that he was gone on business just yesterday, remember?
Sonadora: (aside to Ranja) They do have lakes to bathe in the forest.
Sintilya Foxblood: Though... I suppose a lot's happened since then...
Sintilya Foxblood frowns in thought.
Garret Arahnrod: This talisman is a symbol... I believe it belongs to The Pack, a group of brigands that settled to the northwest.
Garret Arahnrod: I don't know much more than that, though.
Arphaxad: There was nothing magic in them, right?
Sonadora glares at the dead man in disgust.
Arphaxad: The northwest? How far?
Garret Arahnrod shrugs.
Garret Arahnrod: Daisy may be able to tell you more - she's had encounters with them in the past, back when she was acting as a hunter and tracker.
Sonadora: She has Vida as well.
Sintilya Foxblood: Oh, she went back to her house south of the river.
Sintilya Foxblood: And yes, she has Vida with her.
Garret Arahnrod: Before you go, though, I thought I'd tell you of my trip, as I believe it pertains to recent events.
Sonadora nods.
Sonadora: If Markham were here we'd give you some juice.
Garret Arahnrod: I visited a sometimes ally of my mother.
Garret Arahnrod: I was advised by Lathander, the Morninglord, that I would need knowledge and possibly assistance. And I thought my mother's ally would be able to help.
Garret Arahnrod: He's known as the Oracle of the Eclipse, but only to the few who have heard of him.
Sonadora: Was he able to help?
Garret Arahnrod: Far into the mountains he lives, away from civilization... and yes he provided some help, in a way.
Garret Arahnrod: I accepted a geas to say no more about his location or my trip... in exchange, he offered me knowledge that I might pass to you.
Garret Arahnrod sighs audibly.
Garret Arahnrod: Of course, nothing is simple with someone as old and isolated as him...
Garret Arahnrod: So the advice comes in the form of riddles, which you must answer correctly in order to receive the next.
Sonadora gives a barely audible groan.
Garret Arahnrod: But, he also asked that you visit him sometime in the future, as soon as you are able and not... occupied.
Garret Arahnrod: That was his only term for the agreement.
Arphaxad: Very well then, let's hear these riddles.
Sonadora: Seems fair.
Garret Arahnrod nods to Arphaxad.
You notice a bright light begin to shine within Garret's eyes as the muscles in his face relax slightly -
The gleam in Garret's eyes brightens, and you feel as though you're looking at two stars that have appeared in the shadows of the room. A voice that is not his own emanates from Garret's mouth as he speaks:

To learn of evil
and what evil's done, what type
of man seeks the sun?

Ranja blinks.
Arphaxad: Hmmm...

Sonadora sighs.
The light in Garret's eyes fades to a pinpoint, and he seems to return to himself.
Garret Arahnrod: You need not answer immediately... he said you had as much time as you wanted to contemplate the answer.
Garret Arahnrod: But I cannot say more until you've provided me with the answer he wanted.
Ranja ponders.
Sonadora: All of them?
Garret Arahnrod shakes his head at Sonadora.
Arphaxad: Hmm...
Arphaxad: A stargazer?
Arphaxad: An innocent man?
Sonadora: A mole?
Geyer: Evil deeds ain't done by sunlight. Seems ta me only a fool would seek it out ta learn of such matters.
Ranja: Knowledge: Religion [1d20+6 = 14]
Sonadora: Knowledge (Nature) [1d20+3 = 19]
Arphaxad: Knowledge: Religion [1d20+8 = 25]
Geyer: Knowledge: History [1d20+2 = 4]
Ranja: Knowledge (Arcana) [1d20+6 = 20]
Ranja: Knowledge: Local [1d20+4 = 13]
(Religion) Lathanderites, worshippers of the god of the sun, could be in a way considered to be "seeking the sun." Many men of that faith have, throughout history, searched for a way to be closer to their patron.
(Nature) No man in Nature is purported to seek the sun. There are a lot of animals that seek light, including one odd ritual involving a groundhog and winter.
(History) Lots of people have searched for light throughout history.
(Arcana) The Light spell could be considered one form of light, as could Will'o'Wisps. Though you cannot come up with anyone who would search for either.
(Local) The town has a temple to Lathander, which could be considered a Light of sorts.
Arphaxad: Perhaps we should ask a priest or priestess?
Geyer: I got nothing but the fool idea.
Garret Arahnrod shakes his head with a frown on his lips.
Garret Arahnrod: I'm afraid none of those is correct.
Arphaxad: Any other hints?
Sonadora ponders in frustration.
Garret Arahnrod: I'm afraid I can say no more.
Arphaxad: Ok, lets look closer at the riddle
Geyer: A paladin, perhaps? They seek to learn more of evil but in service to the forces of light.
Arphaxad: Perhaps the answer is plain.
Sonadora: Perhaps something that slumbers and wakes in winter?
Ranja: Sunflowers like the sun...
Garret Arahnrod sits down at one of the tables.
Arphaxad: I am sure the answer is in the question.
Geyer: While we are attempting to solve this, I feel I should ask if you have any suggestions or new orders, Sir.
Garret Arahnrod raises his eyebrow.
Garret Arahnrod: Ah, right.
Garret Arahnrod: Well...
Sonadora: Should we check out the temple?
Arphaxad: Yes?
Garret Arahnrod: Now that you mention it, Geyer - I hear you took charge of the militia and started a bucket brigade?
Garret Arahnrod stands.
Garret Arahnrod: And without my permission?
Geyer: I would like to continue the investigation but town defense seems to be rapidly becoming more of a priority.
Geyer: Aye, I organized a bit in an emergency capacity, Sir.
Garret Arahnrod grins.
Garret Arahnrod: I'm just making light, Geyer. Well done.
Geyer: Thank you, Sir.
Garret Arahnrod reaches behind his back to a scabbard attached to his belt.
Garret Arahnrod draws a sword from within and offers it to Geyer.
Garret Arahnrod: This used to belong to the Guard Captain of Sundown before its destruction, nearly a hundred years ago.
Geyer accepts the sword with a bow to Garret.
Garret Arahnrod: It's said that bravery and honor will draw forth great power from it - but to be honest, it seems but a well-forged blade to me.
Geyer: I will try to use it with honor in service to the town, sir.
A quick look at it shows you that it is well-forged and has excellent balance. (Masterwork)
Geyer: If the blade also confers the job, I would like permission to begin recruiting and training a more formal Guard at once.
Garret Arahnrod nods to Geyer.
Garret Arahnrod: You're welcome to it, Geyer. I wasn't very good at the job myself...
Garret Arahnrod chuckles.
Geyer: Thank you, sir.
Sonadora glances at Ranja.
Sonadora: Perhaps Sintiyla could finish healing everyone before we investigate further?
Ranja nods.
Arphaxad: Perhaps we could rest tonight and work more tomorrow.
Arphaxad: My magical energies are nearly spent.
Sonadora: I must find Vida first.
Arphaxad: Perhaps that sword is the sun in the riddle?
Garret Arahnrod glances at Arphaxad and shrugs.
Garret Arahnrod: Unless you four have any further insights, I do believe someone is waiting for you.
Garret Arahnrod smiles at Sonadora.
Sonadora glances at Sintilya for directions.
Sintilya Foxblood: Cross the bridge and turn right, to the east. Her house is built into a small hill. It's one of the few with a wooden porch outside it.
Sonadora dashes off.
Arphaxad: Geyer.
Arphaxad: Perhaps the answer is Geyer?
Arphaxad: Hah.
Geyer: I'm deputizing you three as Lieutenants in the town guard, if you want the job. Once we get this thing up and running I'll want people I trust in charge.
Garret Arahnrod chuckles at Arphaxad.
Arphaxad: Perhaps, but we must solve this riddle soon.
Arphaxad: Remember, many people were attacked by the crazed animals.
Arphaxad: Our time is very short, I fear.
Geyer: Well, we should work in the way that best suits us.
Arphaxad: Not to mention some of us were struck and bitten by that crazed man.
Garret Arahnrod frowns.
Garret Arahnrod: Is it passed via bites?
Geyer: I can ask the townsfolk if they know the answer.
Ranja looks very worried.
Garret Arahnrod: That could end in a terrible epidemic...
Sintilya Foxblood agrees with Ranja.
Geyer: You and Ranja can research in your books.
Geyer: And Sonadora can speak with the animals and spirits to see if they know.
Arphaxad: Very well, but I must get some rest, or I'll be useless if something attacks us.
Garret Arahnrod nods.
Garret Arahnrod: That seems like a good idea.
Geyer: Well, why don't you and Ranja rest and research at the Temple.
Ranja: Surely there has to be something written about this . . . situation . . .
Geyer: I will go around town, ask people the riddle, and get started organizing a defense.
Geyer: Gather Information [1d20+4 = 13]
Geyer: Gather Information Time [1d4+1 = 2]
Geyer: While asking everyone he sees the mysterious riddle, Geyer sets about recruiting the most soldierly dozen he can muster. He also asks around for a blacksmith, but finds there isn't one.
GM: Ari, 2 hours of work - but you don't manage to learn anything. Your choice to continue or not.
Geyer: Arr, no smithy and no answer. Guess I'll keep at it for a bit longer.
Geyer: Gather information [1d20+4 = 17]
Geyer Gather Information Time: [1d4+1 = 2]
(Gather Information) Though you learn nothing new about the riddle, you do encounter one woman who claims to know the beast-man. He came from The Pack, and a nastier person she hadn't met. He probably got himself into whatever he got himself into -
In fact, The Pack is notorious for getting into trouble because of living so far into the wild and accepting most anyone who arrives, at least until they've proven themselves a danger to the group.
Arphaxad: Very well, lets go Ranja.
Arphaxad: Lets look up any sicknesses or diseases that change people dramatically.
Ranja: Perhaps something that can be cured by sunlight?
Arphaxad: Knowledge (Arcana) [1d20+8 = 14]
Ranja: Knowledge: Religion [1d20+6 = 11]
(Arcana) Several diseases have been known to severely affect people. The only arcane example you find regarding sunlight is that of Shades. Infused by the power of the Plane of Shadow, they only appear human in the light of the sun, but are not cured completely.
GM: (Religion) The only disease you can find that relates to sunlight is vampirism, and that does not seem to be the one affecting people here.
You both also find mention of dark rituals and books that can achieve powerful plagues and diseases, but no mention of how they're done or the specific effects.
Arphaxad: A man thats not a man. Perhaps a shade?

GM: Sonadora -
A simple burrow greets you at the location where you were told Daisy lived. A simple wooden porch stretches out in front of the hillock, and you can tell by the well-worn rocking chair that the shaded porch is a favored spot for the comfort it can provide in the spring and summer. A window carved into the hillside shows you a warm fireplace and a soft looking rug with several pillows arranged around it. Potted plants fill the corners of the room, some of them displaying bright colors that contrast starkly with the grey-white world outside.
Sonadora knocks on the door.
Sonadora - Daisy comes to the door, and you see her using a wooden staff to balance herself due to her injury.
Sonadora smiles at Daisy and whistles for Vida.
Sonadora: Hello, Daisy.
Sonadora: How's Vida?
Daisy Bellanife has gorgeous, long blonde hair and a winning smile. You can see why so many halfling men, Markham included, have fallen for her. You also can't help notice that she is missing her right leg, and you remember hearing stories of a great battle that resulted in the wound.
Daisy Bellanife: Sonadora! Come on in!
Vida leaps out at Sonadora from the doorway and starts to lick her face!
Daisy Bellanife: Oh! 'n can you bring in my chair? Not much use with this cold, and I don' want't to get damaged from the snow.
Sonadora brings in the chair.
Daisy Bellanife: So, you're here for Vida I take it?
Daisy Bellanife smiles.
Sonadora hugs Vida really tight and ruffles his head.
Sonadora: Yes. And a few questions, if you have the time?
You notice Vida is wearing an odd, shaggy set of barding that ties across his chest.
Daisy Bellanife: Of course.
Daisy Bellanife sits down carefully on a cushion.
Sonadora: Um, for starters, what is Vida wearing?
Daisy Bellanife: Oh! I hope you like it.
Daisy Bellanife: Or, I hope Vida does anyways.
Daisy Bellanife: Well, I've been talking to Vida - did you know he considers you a sister and a packmate?
Sonadora chuckles and nods.
Sonadora: We're family for life.
Daisy Bellanife: He told me how you tried to protect him from those beasts of flame.
Sonadora: He has saved my life many times before.
Daisy Bellanife nods to Sonadora.
Daisy Bellanife: Well, not everyone treats their companions so well. I decided to give you a gift from my collection - gathered throughout my adventures... back when I had them.
Daisy Bellanife frowns at her missing leg, and then looks up quickly to hide it.
Sonadora: You still have adventures, Daisy.
Daisy Bellanife shakes her head.
Daisy Bellanife: I don't... but it's no matter.
Daisy Bellanife: The barding is made from the pelt of a hellhound.
Daisy Bellanife: It will help to protect Vida from flames and heat. I thought it appropriate.
Daisy Bellanife grins brightly.
Sonadora hugs Daisy happily.
Sonadora: Thank you!
Daisy Bellanife: Now then - what other queries'd you have, Sonadora?
Sonadora informs Daisy about the recent animal activity and the fight in the pavillion.
Daisy Bellanife: My, looks like the fun's moved on to you fellas!
Sonadora: Garret seems certain you might know more about the Pack.
Daisy Bellanife: Oh, I do!
Daisy Bellanife: Though, he tends to think of'm as brigands.
Daisy Bellanife: That's not really true, necessarily.
Daisy Bellanife: Many are, certainly! But only because they're lax on who they let stay in their camp.
Sonadora frowns.
Daisy Bellanife: All in all, they're just loners who don't take kindly to non-humans. So, 'f course *I* don't get along wit'm. But many humans do.
Sonadora: Why would this one be half human if they despise non-humans?
Daisy Bellanife: I suspect that he became half-human due to the same curse that's afflicted the animals.
Sonadora: What kind of magic could this be?
Daisy Bellanife: I don't know much for magic - just a trick or two with nature.
Daisy Bellanife: This seems... twisted, though. Tot'lly unnatural.
Sonadora sighs and tells Daisy about the riddle to see if she knows anything about that.
Daisy Bellanife: Hmm... afraid I don't.
Daisy Bellanife: Though, I could point you towards the Pack. If the man came from there, it's possible they know something.
Daisy Bellanife: Ah! And, actually... that reminds me of something Markham told me.
Sonadora: Oh?
Daisy Bellanife nods to Sonadora.
<Sonadora: ... and?
Daisy Bellanife: You've met with the Pack before - two of their ilk ambushed you on the road about 10 days ago.
Daisy Bellanife grins.
Daisy Bellanife: Though, I doubt you knew it was the Pack's men who did it.
Daisy Bellanife: You can usually recognize them by their dark green cloaks and the talisman they wear.
Sonadora: There must be something they want from the village.
Sonadora: Do they have a religious following?
Daisy Bellanife: Not that I'm aware of, no. They're a hodgepodge collection of folk.
Sonadora: Where is the camp? Perhaps we will make a visit.
Daisy Bellanife: Follow the road north - you'll reach an area with scant trees and should be able to see a large manse to your right - towards the east.
Daisy Bellanife: Turn west there, though, away from the abandoned manse, and head straight until you reach the camp. Don't deviate, or you'll miss it.
Sonadora nods and hugs Daisy again.
Sonadora: Daisy, I was just thinking, there was a tinker in the village a couple days ago who is making Aaron a metal leg. Perhaps he can make one for you?
Daisy Bellanife hugs Sonadora back and gives Vida a pat on the back.
Daisy Bellanife: Sounds like it could be interesting, but... I won't get my hopes too high. You understand.
Daisy Bellanife waves.
Sonadora goes back to her house and rests curled up with Vida.

Arphaxad decides to go and speak more to Garret in the morning.
Garret Arahnrod: Ah! Arphaxad, what did you need?
Garret Arahnrod: Did you have more answers for the Oracle's test?
Arphaxad: Sadly, I do not have more answers yet, but tell me, does that dagger have anything to do with this?
Garret Arahnrod: The Marshal's Blade? No, that is but a relic I've kept with me since it lacked a purpose these days.
Arphaxad: I see, were you told the answer to the riddle?
Garret Arahnrod: I was told the answer.
Garret Arahnrod nods to Arphaxad.
Garret Arahnrod: But the geas the Oracle laid upon me prevents me from expressing it in any way, lest I begin to suffer greatly for it.
Arphaxad: Is there nothing more we could learn about this riddle?
Arphaxad: Diplomacy [1d20+3 = 16]
Garret Arahnrod smiles sadly at Arphaxad.
Garret Arahnrod: I'm afraid it's not that I don't *want* to tell you more, but that I am not able to.
Geyer: Are ye the answer, sir? You sought Lathander who guided you ta an oracle when ye wished ta know of the evil here.
Garret Arahnrod: The Oracle assured me that the answer would come to you eventually, though I know not how he knew.
Garret Arahnrod chuckles at Geyer.
Garret Arahnrod: I'm afraid not, Marshal.
Ranja: Are you not even able to tell us something to point us in the right direction of the answer?
Ranja: Diplomacy [1d20+8 = 20]
Garret Arahnrod: Only that I was told you would reach the answer, and then the first test would be complete. He told me he had no doubt in the mental acuity of you four.
Arphaxad: Are there any around here who worship the sun?
Garret Arahnrod: Aye, myself and the community.
Arphaxad: I can think of no answer to this riddle for now.
Garret Arahnrod: Did you have any other questions for me?
Garret Arahnrod nods.
Arphaxad: We shall see you again, but for now, it may be that we are not meant to know the answer yet.
Garret Arahnrod nods.

Sonodora decides to stop by Gnorm's cart in the morning before looking for her companions.
GM: The cart sits in the square, though most people are done with it - except for the kids of course.
Sonadora knocks on the door hoping to enquire about making another leg.
The gnome's door has a "Busy: Do Gnot Disturb" sign on it - though to you it means little, since you can't read.
GM: So, your knocking yields no response.

The three of you leave the Chamber, and spot Sonadora knocking on Gnorm's cart.
Sonadora sighs and decides to come back later.
Sonadora goes to look for the others.
Arphaxad: Oh no, what are you doing? Haven't you had enough of that crazed old gnome?
Sonadora starts in surprise.
Sonadora: Oh! No, I was going to see if he could make Daisy a leg also.
Ranja glances at the misspelled sign and can't contain a wince.
Arphaxad: Well, if you're done, perhaps we should go looking for this camp.
Geyer slowly spells out the letters on the sign in his head and doesn't know what to make of the GN combination.
Sonadora nods.
Sonadora: Daisy gave me directions.
Geyer: I'm not sure that's the best idea.
Arphaxad: What do you suggest?
Geyer: They had a drawing of 'Dora when they attacked her.
Geyer: They were targeting her specifically. Walking into their camp seems dangerous.
Sonadora: Well, it seems like the best way to get answers. Maybe we could ambush one and question him?
Arphaxad: Maybe, but I'd say doing anything is dangerous at this point.
Arphaxad: This whole town may be crawling with those zombie creatures soon rather than our townsfolk.
Sonadora: Doing nothing seems like an awful idea, too, and we're not solving the riddle with our current knowledge.
Geyer: Do we know anything useful about them? Numbers, beliefs, weapons, magics?
Sonadora: No religious beliefs. They're pretty much just a ragtag bunch of strangers who dislike non-humans.
Arphaxad: Perhaps not, but if we take the cloak off our dead friend and show it to them, perhaps they will see the danger and listen to us and we may learn something of them.
Arphaxad: I understand it is a symbol of their group Although... we should probably leave out that we killed him.
Sonadora: Perhaps one of us could go in disguise?
Sonadora: Pretend to be a brigand?
Arphaxad: But if we are discovered, we will learn nothing and likely the spy will die.
Geyer: I have an idea.
Arphaxad: Yes?
Geyer: We can disguise ourselves as a family of refugees. We can say we were driven out of Sundown for stealing food.
Sonadora: I won't pass as human though.
Arphaxad: And you wouldn't make a good wife, knight.
Geyer: 'Dora can pretend to be a human child. Ranja and I will be her parents. Wizard, you can be Ranja's brother.
Sonadora: I'll need a hat to cover my ears. I suppose this means I'll need to wear shoes.
Sonadora wiggles her toes.
Arphaxad: I do not now if this deception would be a good idea.
Arphaxad: Perhaps if we split up?
Ranja glances at Sonadora's feet.
Arphaxad: I could go first with a more direct approach with the cloak.
Arphaxad: And if things did not work, you could later follow with this plan.
Arphaxad: Truthfully though, all our plans are as likely to fail as another
Sonadora: Well, it's quite a distance so perhaps we want to get started?
Ranja: I don't think we should split up. I mean, what if we run into another . . . thing. We'd best be together to be able to fight it off, yes?
Arphaxad: Regardless, I am going to pack the green cloak in my bag, who knows if it will be useful.
Geyer: Well, we can begin the hike I suppose.
Geyer: We can always make camp somewhere and plan if we need to.
Geyer: But maybe grab some children's clothes from Aaron's sister to use as a disguise before we go?
Sonadora frowns and looks at her clothes.
Sonadora: What's wrong with my clothes?
Ranja: They're, um . . . just not childlike.
Geyer: Or we can always boldly walk in, proclaim ourselves the Sundown Guard, and demand an audience with their leader.
Arphaxad: I like that idea.
Arphaxad: If they discover a lie, we are likely to be in over our heads, depending on their numbers.
Arphaxad goes off to the corpse, thankful it hasn't been buried yet, but notices the smell has begun to spread.
Sonadora sadly goes to get children's clothes while Arphaxad gets the cloak.
Sonadora: They aren't very colorful.
Sonodora leads the way north once Arphaxad returns.
After an uneventful day and a half of travel, you reach a clear area of the road and keep your eyes open for a large manse on your right - sure enough, you spot a large, somewhat forboding home built in the grassy clearing.

Sonadora: Decision time. What are we planning?
Sonadora tries to look around for anything useful.
Sonadora: Spot [1d20+8 = 17]
Geyer: Interesting looking place. Wonder what it is...or used ta be, I guess.
Ranja: Listen [1d20+3 = 15]
Geyer: Knowledge: History [1d20+2 = 10]
The mansion looks abandoned, even from this distance, but nothing else you can see.
Ranja: Knowledge: Local [1d20+4 = 21]
Arphaxad: I am going to use my knowledge here and say ...it's an abandoned manse, now let's move on.
Arphaxad: Where to now?
(Local+ History) The house was mentioned by a few townsfolk as a place used to scare children. Ghost stories and the like abound, and noone really goes inside - both from the stories and the likely instability of the structure. Historically, you know it's been around for longer than the town of Sundown has stood.
Sonadora: What should we do?
Geyer: So before we head in the woods, we need to decide. Bold or sneaky.
Arphaxad: Bold.
Sonadora: I can follow Arphaxad and scout as one option.
Arphaxad: I am ready to do whichever plan.
Sonadora looks to Geyer.
Geyer: Actually in further thought, disguising ourselves seems kind of a gray area where my Code is concerned. I would hate to do anything to upset my standing in the Order.
Arphaxad: Then a direct approach?
Sonadora rolls her eyes and pulls some vines from her bags to camoflage her.
Sonadora: Stay here Vida.
Sonadora: Move silently [1d20+5 = 9]
Vida barks and nudges your leg to be allowed to follow.
Sonadora: Fine. But stay quiet.
Ranja: Move silently [1d20-3 = 14]
Sonadora scouts while she walks.
Geyer: The three of us go in, and you follow as stealthily behind as you can. They may negotiate better with just humans being seen.
Arphaxad: Move silently [1d20+3 = 16]
Geyer: Move silently [1d20-2 = 5]
(Listen) As the four of you travel, you all notice an odd sound in the distance, almost like the braying of a very large sheep.
Sonadora: (whispered) That doesn't sound good...
Sonadora: Let's hope the whole camp hasn't become part beast.
You hear something loud approaching you, and suddenly a large, matronly woman goes running by you - her mouth wide open and gasping for air as she runs at you!
Sonadora jumps out of the way.
A matronly woman runs right past the four of you without slowing!
Arphaxad: Hey, lady, why are you running?
Sonadora: That cannot be good.
Geyer: Not a good sign when someone ignores 4 armed strangers in their path.
Sonadora glances back the other way and prepares for a battle.
Geyer draws sword and shield.
As you pick your way carefully through the underbrush you make out the sounds of screaming from far ahead - a deep, baritone voice shouts and you can hear the fury of nature in its bellow - "Blood of my blood! Seed of my loin! WHAT HAVE YOU BASTARDS DONE TO MY SON!?"
Sonadora grimaces.
Sonadora: Sounds like they may be in more trouble than we are.
Geyer picks up the pace, moving quickly forward towards the shouting.
Sonadora stops on the edge to spy.
Arphaxad lifts his staff to battle height and moves forward
Ranja draws her sword.
Men, women and children run around the camp in a state of mass chaos. In the center of the human maelstrom, a horned man with the legs of a goat fires a shortbow into the crowd with incredible precision. Chestnut hair covers his legs, and a mane of the same hue runs down his back.

What is with all these horny creatures, anyways? ANIMAL EROTICA TIME, BABY! That's what.

Sonadora: We need to stop him.
Geyer: What is he?
Sonadora: Probably a man turned beast.
Arphaxad: Regardless, now he is a dead man.
The horned man shoots an arrow into the back of a man wielding a handaxe!
Arphaxad moves towards the beast.
Geyer: Maybe his cause is just.
Sonadora pulls out her sling and buckler,
The horned man brays loudly!
Geyer: After all, these are bandits he is attacking.
Sonadora: He's killing women and children.
Geyer: Aye. You are correct. Whatever started his rage, he has taken it too far.
Geyer: End him.
Sonadora: Initiative [1d20+3 = 6]
Arphaxad: Initiative [1d20+3 = 13]
Ranja: Initiative [1d20+1 = 20]
Geyer: Initiative [1d20+2 = 22]
The horned man: [1d20+1 = 19]
GM: There are people milling about here, but much more dispersed - you find you can make your way through the tumult without slowing.
Geyer: I am Geyer of the Coin, Marshal of Sundown. I give you one chance to cease fire and explain yourself, or we will destroy you in the name of justice.
The horned man: JUSTICE!? You dare claim human JUSTICE plays a part in this?!
The horned man nonchalantly kicks at a passing woman, knocking her down and sending her a few feet forward in a sprawl!
Sonadora growls.
Geyer: I will not stand for the deaths of women and children. Explain your attack or be destroyed.
The horned man: I WILL NOT STAND FOR THE LOSS OF ME SON! If you know of him, bring him to me or suffer the consequences!
Geyer: Who is your son?
Geyer points his sword at the horned man, and prepares to charge him at any sign of attack.
The horned man speaks with a thick brogue, and throws his head around as he speaks, his hooves digging at the dirt.
The horned man brays loudly!
Ranja: Please, if you'd just tell us who your son is, perhaps we can help you find him. Just let these people alone!
The horned man snorts loudly.
The horned man: I can smell the stink of those that took him surrounding this camp!
The horned man: And I shall have him, or I shall have thar blood!
Sonadora: Who took him?
The horned man: Intruders ta this forest, that's who!
Sonadora: We'll need more than that if you want us to find him for you.
Arphaxad: Perhaps we can help you find your son, if you will cease your attack
The horned man: I TOLD YOU, HALFLING! Someone stole him, and their scent surrounds this camp! If I knew more'n that, I'd have him mySELF!
Sonadora: If you calm down we can smell him out for you.
Ranja whispers to Sonadora, "Can Vida track the scent of who stole his son?"
Sonadora: If there's an article of clothing or something specific.
The horned man draws the string on his bow back and points it at the four of you!
The horned man: TELL ME WHERE HE IS!?
Arphaxad: Cease your attack and we will find him!
Sonadora: I believe he's through talking.
The horned man aims an arrow at Sonadora!
Arphaxad: Very well, you have chosen death!
Geyer: You have chosen the path without honor. DIE!
Geyer charges as the horned man draws back his bowstring!
Geyer: Masterwork Longsword (Attack 1) [1d20+6+2 = 22]
Geyer: Masterwork Longsword damage [1d8+3 = 8]
The horned man brays loudly as Geyer's blow leaves a telling cut across his cheek and upper chest! (8 damage!)
Arphaxad: He seeks his son!

Arphaxad: Is he the answer to the riddle?
The horned man drops his arm from his shortbow to his belt and grabs a set of panpipes!
The horned man begins to play a charming ditty on his panpipes, and you see everyone around him suddenly turn towards him with a sycophantic grin on their faces.
Sonadora: Probably.
Sonadora: Oh dear.
Geyer: Will save [1d20+3 = 8]
-> Geyer: Suddenly your senses clear and you see through the illusion of the camp - the man in the middle of everything is in fact the only human here, and the hunters are horrible little goblinoid creatures!
Arphaxad: Fight it Geyer!!
Sonadora winces in fear.
Sonadora: I can't hurt my friend.
Sonadora glares at the beast.
Arphaxad: Hopefully You won't have to.
The horned man: Now ye see the truth, warrior!
Sonadora: Stop this please!
Several men from the crowd suddenly draw their weapons and begin to point them at the three of you standing near the the wall!
Sonadora: Diplomacy [1d20+2 = 8]
Sonadora: Please let us help you!
Arphaxad hopes to avoid confronting his friend by putting him to sleep.
Sonadora: Don't get close!
Sonadora: I'll cast my vines also.
Arphaxad: Don't fight it knight - remember who we are and who YOU are!
Arphaxad suddenly sprinkles a handful of sand into the air over the area, and it settles down over Geyer and two of the hunters!
The horned man: Will save [1d20+1 = 20]
Hunter1: [1d20+1 = 7]
Hunter2: [1d20+1 = 21]
Geyer kind of drunkenly says "It's all a trick! The hunters are really goblins and they cast a spell so we see this innocent man as a horned monster! We have to help him and break the spell."
Sonadora: Is this true?
Sonadora glances at Ranja.
Ranja blinks.
The hunter closest to the horned man suddenly slumps to the ground, his eyes closed!
Sonadora: Can they do that?
Geyer: Will save [1d20+3 = 18]
Ranja: I don't know. I've never heard of such a thing, but then again....
Arphaxad: Darn.
Sonadora moves forward twenty feet and casts entangle, keeping Arphaxad outside the area of the spell.
Geyer: Reflex save [1d20+4 = 19]
The horned man: Reflex save [1d20+5 = 6]
Hunter1: [1d20+2 = 8]
Hunter2: [1d20+2 = 6]
The plants in the area grow around the horned man's legs, as well as those of the two hunters! Geyer manages to dodge the tendrils for now!
Hunter1: [1d20 = 20]
The southernmost hunter breaks free from the plants holding him!
Hunter2: [1d20 = 11]
The northernmost one struggles, but remains caught!
The horned man: Ally! Me friend! Knock out your friends! It's the only way to buy time!
Geyer: Charisma bonus [1d20+2 = 21]
The horned man: Then we can explain whot's really happenin'!
The horned man: [1d20+1 = 8]
Geyer: I am sorry, sir, I cannot harm my friends even if they are confused by the goblins' spell. I will protect you from the monsters though!
Geyer moves south to attack the "goblin" that escaped from the plants.
Geyer: Strength bonus [1d20+3 = 22]
Geyer: Masterwork Longsword (Attack 1) [1d20+6 = 22]
Geyer: Masterwork Longsword damage [1d8+3 = 9]
You cleave through the hunter's armor, causing him to fall to the ground gripping his entrails!
Ranja moves to stand near the others.
Ranja closes her eyes briefly and chants beneath her breath to cast bless.
Sonadora: Don't get to close. Those vines entangle everything.
Ranja casts a blessing to the air, and you feel bolstered by her strength!
Arphaxad: Very nice.
Ranja: Will save [1d20+6 = 13]
Arphaxad: Will save [1d20+4 = 12]
Sonadora: Will save [1d20+7 = 24]
The horned man's jaunty music reaches you as he moves forward, and suddenly you feel your vision begin to fade and blur!
-> Arphaxad: Suddenly, you see the truth behind the encampment - the horned man is in fact the only other human here, and the hunters are all hideous looking goblinoid creatures!
Sonadora: I don't have any sleep spells!
Several more hunters seem to fall under the horned man's enchantment!
Arphaxad: Be careful, there are goblins coming up behind you!
The horned man: Mage! Friend! Knock out your friends, it'll buy us time to explain what's REALLY happenin'!
The horned man: [1d20+1 = 7]
Arphaxad: Charisma bonus [1d20+3 = 23]
Arphaxad aims at the closest goblin and sends flame from his fingers (burning hands
Arphaxad: I can't do that horned man, not to my friends, they are not here to hurt you, but just don't understnad this evil place!
Arphaxad: I will explain it to them once I save you from the goblins!
Arphaxad steps into the area constrained by Sonadora's entangle spell, and finds he cannot go much further without a struggle!
Hunter1: Reflex save [1d20+2 = 4]
The hunter to the north falls into your fan of flames, and falls to the door screaming in agony!
Arphaxad: Sonodora, Ranja, you don't understand, you must help him!
Sonadora takes a shot with her sling against the goat-man's panpipes.
Arphaxad: The evil goblins here are trying to confuse us
Sonadora: Sling (Attack 1) [1d20+6 = 26]
Sonadora: Sling damage [1d3+1 = 4]
Sonadora's bullet flies true and strikes the panpipes in the goat-man's hand, breaking the end off of several of the reeds!
The horned man brays loudly!
Sonadora: It's not complete. Geyer, you'll have to take care of the rest.
Sonadora: Vida stay out of the entangle.
Geyer: Strength bonus [1d20+3 = 8]
The hunters caught in the plants struggle in vain to break free!
Geyer: Stop attacking this man and return his son!
The hunter looks at you strangely.
Arphaxad: Ranja, don't attack him, you must understand he is only trying to rescue his son from these creatures!
Arphaxad: He thinks you are in league with them!
Ranja looks very confused.
Ranja moves closer to Sonadora and swaps her sword for her sling.
The horned man: [1d20 = 20]
The horned man struggles against the vines, and breaks free!
As the horned man ducks around the building, you lose sight of him!
The horned man: Hide [1d20+13 = 27]
Arphaxad: Burn Goblin, you shan't take him like you took his son!!
Arphaxad casts burning hands!
You hear a shout from around the building - Me friends! TELL ME WHERE ME SON IS! I DEMAND IT!
The horned man: [1d20+1 = 4]
The hunter falls to the ground, his body set alight!
The hunters look confused and shout back that they don't know what he's talking about.
They apologize profusely for their lack of knowledge, too.
Arphaxad: Friend, we know not, but if you will tell us mroe of what happened, we will not rest until He is found
Geyer: I am sorry, sir, as I tried to explain we do not who your son is or where to find him.
You hear a loud braying sound!
Sonadora: Should I go after him?
Sonadora worries her lip.
Sonadora shrugs and throws a shot at one of the hunters.
Sonadora: Sling (Attack 1) [1d20+6 = 15]
Sonadora: Sling damage [1d3+1 = 2]
Sonadora looses a bullet at the hunter, pegging him in the stomach, and causing him to curl over in pain! (2 dam!)
The horned man: Move Silently [1d20+13 = 17]
Geyer: Strength bonus [1d20+3 = 21]
Geyer: Sir? Where are you? Come back and we can help look for your son?
Sonadora: I think they're still enchanted, Ranja.
Sonadora: That beast is in no way normal.
Ranja agrees with Sonadora.
Ranja tightens her grip on her sling and sends a stone sailing toward another beguiled hunter.
Ranja: Sling (Attack 1) [1d20+2 = 22]
Ranja: Sling (Crit Confirm) [1d20+2 = 12]
Ranja: Sling damage [1d4 = 2]
The hunter takes a stone to the chest, and it nearly knocks him down! (2 damage!)
Geyer: Appears he's run off, probably terrified of those beasts!
Ranja: Spot [1d20+3 = 5]
Arphaxad: We must find him, and leave this place, its crawling with those creatures.
Geyer and Arphaxad, you feel the enchantments influence wear off as the object of your allegiance has disappeared.
Arphaxad: Huh...whats going on?
Sonadora believes Geyer and Arphaxad have lost their noggins....
Geyer shakes off the strange hypnotic music.
Arphaxad: Why am I fighting you?
Geyer: That's odd...there's no goblins here. What magic was that?
Sonadora: Because you both went looney.
